Best Social Media Platforms for Ag Businesses in 2021

Not sure what social media platforms you should be using to grow your business in 2021?

There are several new and old platforms that are becoming a great place for Ag businesses to grow.

1. Tik Tok

If you haven’t joined Tik Tok yet, it is definitely worth considering. It is a video platform of short videos max 60 seconds, that use popular music and sounds. If you’re marketing to young farmers, or directly to your consumers Tik Tok is a great place to get in front of the right audience quickly.

Tik Tok’s AI puts users into interest groups making it easy to attract your ideal audience by tailoring your content to what they enjoy watching.

PRO TIP: Pay attention to what is trending - recreating trending videos is a great way to grow quickly on Tik Tok.

2. Pinterest

As one of the most commonly overlooked platforms, Pinterest is a great platform to use to increase traffic to your website or blog. Pinterest works as a visual search engine, which means the content you put on Pinterest is being ranked based on what people are searching for and how well it matches.

I recommend businesses with a blog or selling products utilize Pinterest to generate more traffic to their site. Keep in mind that your image and keywords are what gets you reach on Pinterest!

3. Instagram

There continues to be a strong community of farmers and ranchers on Instagram. If you’re looking to connect with other ag businesses I highly recommend using Instagram. It’s also a great place to market your product directly to your customers and by strategically using niched hashtags, stories and their new Reels businesses have a lot of opportunities to grow on Instagram in 2021.

4. Facebook

Regardless of whether we like it or not, Facebook is still one of the dominant social media platforms today. Some features to use to connect with your customers on Facebook in 2021 are the Facebook Marketplace, and Facebook Groups.

Use the marketplace to post your farm products and sell locally or ship as Facebook is now offering that as an option. Facebook groups are a great place to create a community on Facebook and get slightly increased reach and engagement over a Facebook page.

5. LinkedIn

Looking to connect with Ag professionals or Ag business owners? LinkedIn is a great place to build a large B2B audience fairly quickly. I highly recommended utilizing both a business page and a personal profile for maximum growth on LinkedIn.

ProTip: Use LinkedIn Search to find people in your industry and grow your network as quickly as possible!

6. AgFuse

You’ve probably never heard of this platform before, but AgFuse is a platform specifically for Ag Businesses. So for those of you marketing to other Ag Businesses, I highly recommend creating an account and getting active here! It can help you grow your network and get in front of your ideal customers much faster than other platforms!
